The interior of the entrance hall and adjacent offices of one of the main buildings of Prague British International School underwent an extensive redesign of the entire space last summer. The interior study included a new conceptual concept and arrangement of the space from a functional and aesthetic point of view. The reception area is open and is the main intersection between the individual wings of the school. This is where students, parents and school staff meet. For these moments, there are several sofa-seating zones in the hall, which, in addition to comfortable seating, help ensure acoustic comfort in the often busy environment. The reception was designed in a semicircular shape with traffic in mind, eliminating the risk of collisions with increased traffic frequency. The acoustics of the space are supported by the selection of floor coverings and a special perforated plasterboard ceiling. To increase ergonomic comfort, new lighting objects were designed in the space, which are also the primary aesthetic element of the entrance area, which literally lights up.

The office areas that connect to the reception area are newly separated by glass doors from the manufacturer Dorsis. These doors meet high standards of acoustic and insulation properties for daily operation in office spaces and, thanks to custom production, they could be designed so that access to the offices works on a central chip system. A dividing half-wall between the administrative areas was made in the same design, which visually illuminates both spaces and at the same time, thanks to the milky glass finish, provides maximum privacy for both parties.

The furniture of the reception and offices is designed in a color scheme that is based on the general design manual of the Prague British International School, thus underlining the unity of the visual style across the individual campuses. The significant shade of the entire space is anthracite, which also blends into the metal structures and building parts of the interior. The slightly industrial touch of the space is given by the concrete screeds on the supporting columns of the hall, and the softness of natural materials is brought into the space by custom-made moss paintings.

The timeframe for implementation was firmly defined by the two-month summer vacation period, so the entire redesign was completed in record time.
