Chalet Karlov - doors and hidden door frames DORSIS in an above-standard house.
The combination of wooden and monolithic construction is also reflected in the interior, where carefully patterned wood dominates, complemented by monochromatic surfaces in dark shades. The dialogue with the architect gave rise to a unique, generous concept for the house on an exceptional building plot in the solitude of the meadows and forests of Křivoklát.
The building in question is a single-storey detached family house with a built-up area of 557 m².
The net floor area of the house is 447 m2. It is a combination of wooden and monolithic construction, where two main masses with a wooden structure and a sloping roof emerge from a terrain base with a flat green roof.
The construction site is located in a secluded area in the Křivoklát region. This is an exceptional building plot in an undeveloped area. In the neighborhood there are only meadows, forests and municipal dirt roads.
A house as part of the landscape. A house that fulfills the investor's desire for a getaway from the city.
The mass concept of the house is made up of two elements: a terrain platform and two wooden chalets. The two masses of the chalets – wooden buildings with a massive supporting structure – contrast with the rest of the house not only in form and material, but especially in their unique internal open space. One of them houses the investor's private part – a bedroom with a bathroom, while the other houses the social part of the house – a living room with a kitchen. The generosity of the banquet hall with a terrace, the unique view through the open gable, the warmth of the stone fireplace and the intimacy of the hidden gallery are other aspects that this space offers. The dialogue with the architect gave rise to a uniquely generous concept. However, in terms of the approach to detail, the investor preferred simple to banal solutions, which are further reflected in the purity of the entire house. The house is built from a combination of monolith and wooden construction, which is also prescribed in the interior.
